River District Certification and Weatherization
General improvements needed for certification
The Catawba River District provides certification for eight types of development, ranging from New Residential Subdivision to Remodeled Commercial Building. Each Certification has several categories of improvements, such as “Design Process” and “Sustainable Sites.”
Each of those categories has several criteria that must be met, along with measures of performance. For instance, under the category of Sustainable Sites are criteria such as “protect tree canopy” and “protect river via enhanced erosion control.” These criteria have specific, measurable actions that must be taken to receive certification.
